Automatic Irrigation Based on Soil Moisture with NetRelay

A practical scenario showing how NetRelay can automate irrigation using soil moisture, scheduling and weather conditions.

Irrigation based on actual need

In a sample greenhouse, fixed-time irrigation sometimes delivered too much or too little water. Soil moisture sensors were connected to NetRelay so irrigation decisions could be based on real field data.

How does the scenario work?

When moisture drops below the defined level, the pump relay is activated. Irrigation starts only within an allowed time window and stops automatically after the configured duration. Additional inputs such as wind or rain sensors can provide extra safety conditions.

Remote control and records

Input and output states can be monitored through the web interface. Data can be transferred to central agricultural software using MQTT or HTTP, while MicroSD support enables local logging.
