Detecting Defective Products Instantly with Camera-Based Quality Control

The critical point of quality control

In a sample plastic component factory, small burrs and missing connection points were only noticed during final inspection. Because defects were detected late, hundreds of faulty items could be produced from the same mould.

What can AI inspect?

The camera system can compare each product with a reference image and inspect missing components, incorrect orientation, colour differences, deformation or surface defects. When a nonconforming item is detected, a signal can be sent to the PLC to activate a rejection mechanism.

Traceable quality data

When each defect type is stored with its date and time, the system does more than inspection. It also reveals which shift, line or product has the highest defect concentration, supporting maintenance and process improvement decisions.
