What Should You Consider When Choosing an Industrial IoT Board?
A guide to IoT board selection covering connectivity, relay capacity, APIs, protocol support and field installation.
Connection reliability
In industrial projects, Ethernet and PoE options provide more installation flexibility than Wi-Fi alone. Wired communication is a major advantage in critical environments.
Input and output capacity
The number of digital inputs, analogue sensor support and relay switching capacity should match the actual load requirements. Motor loads that require an external contactor must be planned separately.
Software integration
HTTP GET/POST, MQTT, WebSocket and TCP support make connection to different software platforms easier. Access from Python, Node.js, C# or PHP reduces development time.
Field conditions
DIN rail enclosure, wide supply range, RTC, MicroSD and watchdog features are important for long-term field operation. NetRelay combines these needs in a developer-friendly platform.
