Temperature and Defect Control in Production with Thermal Cameras
An industrial scenario where temperature distribution is analysed through thermal cameras to detect process faults early.
Invisible temperature differences
On a sample heat-treatment line, products looked identical but the temperature distribution in some regions moved outside the required range. The difference only affected product performance during later testing.
Thermal image analysis
A thermal camera creates a temperature map for every product. Software can measure maximum, minimum and average temperatures and compare regional distribution with reference values.
Process intervention
When an abnormal temperature is detected, the product can be marked, the line can be stopped or a PLC parameter warning can be generated. Records can later support quality analysis.
