Product counting

Sack counting system

Overlapping bags, speed changes and dust fool classic photocells. A camera-based sack counting system tracks each bag visually and produces measurable production data.

Why camera-based sack counting?

A photocell counts a single beam crossing. Double bags, gaps or vibration create drift. Computer vision tracks shape, size and motion, separating overlapping products. Accuracy is validated in a field pilot.

Where it fits

Post-fill conveyors, pre-pallet accumulation and shipping count points. Existing IP cameras can be reused when framing is suitable; otherwise we recommend extra cameras or lighting.

ERP and production tracking

Counts can flow into Logo, SAP or custom software via API, files or databases. Shift, SKU and line reports reduce manual recounting.

Powered by NetSAYIM

Sack counting is a core NetSAYIM scenario. The same stack extends to carton, box and bottle lines by adding new product classes to the model.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace photocells?

Photocells can remain as triggers or backups. Primary counting comes from the camera, which handles overlap and speed changes better.

Does dust affect accuracy?

Field assessment covers housing, lenses and lighting. Protective enclosures and a cleaning plan keep vision stable in dusty plants.

How long does rollout take?

Single-line pilots typically cover survey, data capture, training and go-live. Timeline depends on line count and SKU variety.
